West London Humanists and Secularists

Thursday 16th January 2014 "The Sunday Assembly - Sanderson Jones"
The Sunday Assembly was co-founded by Sanderson Jones and Pippa Evans in January 2013 in London. To quote from their Public Charter, "The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation that celebrates life. Our motto: live better, help often, wonder more. Our mission: to help everyone find and fulfill their full potential. Our vision: a godless congregation in every town, city and village that wants one." They have been growing at an astonishing rate and there are now over 30, mostly in UK, USA and Australia. They are an example of what can be done to provide for the community some of the things, which religions have felt were their preserve, but to do it in a non-religious way. One of the most significant aspects of their movement is the wide age-range it attracts demonstrated by the picture below, taken at an assembly.

Sanderson will be talking about the growth of Sunday Assembly and his hopes for its future. We will be taking note and asking ourselves whether we could make one happen in West London.
