Perivale Woods & Horsenden Hill “bluebell walk”, 3 May 2015
A handful of us West Londoners welcomed 19 visitors from Central London Humanists at
Perivale station for what has now become an established tradition: the springtime walk
in & near Perivale Woods nature reserve. The rain stopped just as we set out and we even
saw a little sun in the afternoon. The bluebells did not let us down, as you can see on
the next page – almost the entire wood was carpeted with them. Definitely a haven for nature
lovers. After exploring the highways and byways of the wood we followed the canal and then
headed across open country for the Ballot Box, for solid and liquid reinforcements before walking
over Horsenden Hill, than back by towpath for a final look at the woods. We collected just over
£50 for the Selborne Society, plus a small collection for our own coffers. Thanks to all you
attended, and hope to see you again next year.
